Reviews: Metaphysics (1)
“The Translation of this Magnificent and Transcendental work is simply peerless.”
(Paperback)
by Francisco Mogno
This Translation by C.D.C Reeve with the help of Pavlos Kontos who read every line of the original manuscript, will stay for many years to come because of its philosophical clarity and because it is like listening to Aristotle walking around his Lyceum in Athens, which I have been privileged to visit this week. Where there is room for contention are in the notes, I find them and I am entitled to have my opinion in this free and democratic world, unhelpful and unphilosophical in regard to the idea of the book by one the finest minds of the ancient academic world, if the writer does not say it in his own words, why add it or say it ?; especially the logic of mathematics' parts, two of the finest philosophers of the Modern Era in this subject left this world as failures because they could not crack philosophical semantics of logic with the mathematics of logic side, I have chosen not to mention them as there is no need for them to be in this argument. Apart from this, the 252 pages that are really "Metaphysics" by Aristotle are a real academic, intelectual and especially a philosophical treat
