Reviews: Misfit (2)
“Honest”
(Paperback)
When I was given this to read I had no idea what it was, presumed it to be fiction.
It is in fact an honest and brave account of mental illness from Charli's experiences.
It will be very helpful to many. Happy to recommend on to others.
“Not what I expected”
(Paperback)
I've only just found out that the author is 27, which is surprising since from the way her book is written I would've guessed younger. Yes, I had heard about this awful story online- a model pressured into becoming thin but then told she was too big for most agencies- I don't doubt that it was a harrowing experience. However I would've preferred if she talked more about that. I felt like this was a half-effort attempt at a biography, for someone who hadn't even lived out all their life yet.
I expected more of a focus on dealing with anxiety and an eating disorder, rather than a focus on how when she was a kid she wanted to br a dog.
