Although this is the sequel to Miss Buncle's Book, it's actually not necessary to have read the first book to enjoy the second. It's a gentle comedy in which, through a case of mistaken identity, the newly married Barbara Buncle becomes privy to a secret she is sworn to keep and young love finds its own way, despite well-meaning interference from their elders. Perfect comfort reading when world events become too oppressive, or just when you're feeling a little under the weather.
