Reviews: Mister Memory (2)
“Mystery about memory and fate.....”
(Hardback)
This wonderfully intriguing mystery story starts in Paris at the end of the 19th century, Marcel a man with a perfect memory murders his wife.
Marcel's doctor and policeman assigned to the case try to unravel the crime and to find the real answers inside Marcel's mind.
It is utterly engaging and intelligently written story deals with controversy, murder, friendship and overall the science behind the man who forgets nothing.
I must say that this novel has got all the elements of a good , clever page turner. I would highly recommend it.
“Captivating”
(Hardback)
This story brings into question how you would feel if you were guilty of something that you have no recollection of. We've all had those journey's when we don't remember driving home but murdering your wife?....that's something you just don't forget about.
Mister Memory had me keenly turning pages, expecting I would suddenly work out the mystery on the next page...but I was kept from anticipating the next twist at every turn.
Marcus Sedgwick brought the nineteenth century to life in this novel but his writing still felt like it was more aimed at a teen audience than that of adults.
Nevertheless I would recommend giving this a read as the story is cleverly thought out and very entertaining.
