Reviews: Mockingjay (67)
“LOVED!!!”
(Paperback)
by katie
I think this was possibly my favourite of the three books. I was happy with how the story ended. I liked how Katniss and Peeta's relationship was different in this book compared to in the previous two. I even cried at parts. Howver I think some parts were cut a little to short at the end of the book - when the characters are living their new lives in various districts, you aren't told much about them. Overall, I would definately recommend this book!
“Wow.”

The final instalment of The Hunger Games had a build up that other books may not have lived up to, but it surpassed my expectations. Mockingjay made me cry and left me horrified. I can't put into words how utterly amazing this book (and series, for that matter) is. It blew my mind. Suzanne Collins ended her spectacular trilogy in a way that stayed true to her world and her characters. You really can't ask for any more from an author.
“Amazing”

This series just blew me away, it is something that anyone can read and enjoy, but there is a real depth to the story and characters. I personally loved to see the character development over the course of the books, and to see how the Hunger Games had affected them all mentally - it was fantastically written. This is personally my favourite of the three books - its really character driven, so you feel very connected to them when they are suffering. It is an incredibly sad book though - i was in tears by the end, but it has a very good ending - you dont feel like there is anymore story to tell.

“the perfect ending”
(Paperback)

the third book of a trilogy always has a tricky spot to fill - it has to be good in its own right but it also has to answer the questions of the previous two and leave the characters in a satisfactory position in the conclusion. This one doesn't fail. While some sections in the middle felt slightly out of kilter, this lay mainly in the reactions of Katniss but then again she was still a developing character in some ways. But the clincher is that you know a good book when it gets you shouting out loud. And I guarantee that Mockingjay will get you shouting.
