Brilliant escapism. Modesty Blaise rocks! This sassy, independent, high kicking, crossbow carrying, knife throwing, kongo wielding heroine, complete with straight shooting sidekick is fabulous! These books are brilliant, brutal, energetic and brief - and the covers are glorious!

I read this a surprisingly long time ago now, about 15 years, lent my copy out and never got it back so I finally decided to buy it again. It's fast paced and full of action and the lead character is good but I never felt the desire to read anymore. Not sure why either. Yes it's of it's time but as long as you rememember that it's fine. I certainly recommend it you like bond as that's where it's roots are it seems to me.
