As if that wasn’t bad enough, his country is on the brink of a nuclear war. Darashikoh’s childhood best friend, Ozi left to study abroad leaving Darashikoh behind. But now, Ozi is back and the two friends can’t seem to reconnect as they once did. Ozi is trying to fit in with a new crowd, pushing Darashikoh further and further away. Ozi’s wife Mumtaz also drifts away from Ozi but becomes closer to Darashikoh. Unfortunately for Darashikoh, this is his undoing. This book was so gripping, just when you think you’ve figured it out, you get hit with a plot twist and when you think you’ve recovered from that plot twist, you get hit with another. I found myself so immersed that at times I forgot I was in public, gasping aloud like an idiot!
