I loved everything about this book. The chapters about Freyne's early childhood made me wheeze with laughter, particularly as despite our differences in upbringing, I recognised myself in many of the vignettes he draws. This is tender, charming and sometimes deeply sad writing but always, always engaging. It's wonderful.
