“Romantic and heart-felt”
(Paperback)
by Komal Rani
This is such a romantic and lovely novel, I loved every part of the story. The writing and pacing is really good and keeps you intrigued throughout the whole story. I really loved the main characters, Alfie and Letty, they were instantly likable. This book really surprised me and was so much more than I expected. There were some unexpected plot twists that I thought were amazing and made the novel so interesting and exciting to read. It deals with some topics that may be triggering for some like eating disorders, thoughts of self-harm, but I felt that the author handled these topics well. Overall, I loved this story and would highly recommend for anyone who wants to read an excellent romance novel!
“Bellissimo!”
(Paperback)
by Sarah Goldthorpe
Kate Ebberlen has done a fantastic job of making two very different but extremely well rounded characters in Alf and Letty. We get a good introduction to them in the first section and the chemistry that gradually builds up between them is beautiful. The descriptions of the places they visit in Rome (and in other parts of Italy later) are so enticing. When I learnt their backstories I felt so much sympathy for them both but especially Letty and her fear on having a relationship with Alf made so much sense. Without giving some of Letty’s story away I have to say I was so impressed with how some of her issues were mentioned here and there so they were obviously part of her but not purely who she is. Overall this is a very solid read with a lot of depth but page turning and atmospheric too - gorgeous.
“Amazing!”
(Paperback)
by Rachel Alexander
This book is like no other I have ever read and I feel in love with the characters straight from the get go. I have never been into romance novels but was lucky enough to get a pre-release copy of ‘Only You’ and it has changed my perspective on reading. Straight away you fall in love with the two main characters Letty and Alf. Letty is a young women who has led to Rome to get away from a hard and troubling past. Alf moves to Rome with his girlfriend after a few tough years together to try and rekindle and make things work as well as to travel. Letty and Alf set eyes on each other in an Italian Class and they can’t keep themselves apart. Love grows strong between the two but so much has happened in the past. And then something happens and everything changes.
“Home or Away”

A first impression review, on the first 3 chapters Italy, a beautiful, romantic country for a love story. The first few chapters set the scene well and we are introduced to the two main characters Alf and Letty. We know what Alf and Letty both enjoy dance and this is what brings them together as well as both moving to Italy from England. What made them both leave the Uk and will they ever tell each other the truth or will the truth find them out? I like the cover, uncomplicated and relevant to the story.
“Not just a romance story”
(Paperback)
by Melanie Greaves
This book begins like a classic romance of 'do they or don't they get' together but it turns into so much much. With the majority of the story taking place in Italy and its beautiful geography, the writing really sets the scene of where they are. It is almost as if the background is part of Alf and Letty's story. The characters are beautifully developed and their issues and tales slowly take shape in this well paced book. The reader should not judge this book by it's description and cover as there are many different issues addressed in this book and the way they are dealt with is tactful and honest. A lovely and addictive tale that will make you want to read on and discover the fate of these characters.
