I absolutely love Adele Parks and this book didn’t dissapoint.. full of twists and turns, a real page turner!! Loved it

Adele parks has done it again!! Her writing is superb and I have enjoyed her books for many years, The twists and turns in this book are amazing and I loved the different points of view from the characters as well. Each chapter was so engrossing and I stayed up far to late to finish it but it was worth it! Cannot recommend this book enough! Well done Adele!!

I was so looking forward to catching up with Connie and her friends and family, and to find out what trouble John was going to cause 25 years on! I won’t describe the plot as others have provided summaries, but I loved this book. Adele combines twists, suspense and heart into books that always keep me reading until the early hours. I just wish I’d re-read Playing Away and Young Wives Tales in preparation; I may well read all three again now! Here’s to another 25 books and years!

I have been gagging to read this one for months after seeing all the early buzz flying around bookstagram — and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Now, I love a bit of family drama (so long as it’s not mine, thanks very much) — give me the popcorn and let me watch it all burn. Am I a bad person? Maybe. Do I care? Not when it’s written this well I don’t. The family chaos in Our Beautiful Mess is a whole other level of twisted. Lies, betrayal, secrets… you name it, it’s in here. I was on edge the entire time, never knowing what was coming next, and every time I thought I couldn’t possibly be shocked again — Jaw on the floor. This book is anything but beautiful as the title suggests, but it is the perfect domestic thriller. Adele Parks has pulled off something sharp, shocking and addictive — what a way to celebrate 25 years in the industry. Absolutely brilliant.

Having read Playing Away (where it all started for both Adele and the main character Connie) and Young Wives’ Tales I was eagerly anticipating the further misadventures of Connie and her clan. I was not disappointed. This book was at turns happy, sad, thrilling, scary, thought provoking and tender. The book can easily stand on its own but having read the earlier two gave the characters more depth understanding their backstories. Another thoroughly enjoyable book from the lovely, talented Adele Parks. Can’t wait for book 26
