“Journey into a Dark Night”
(Paperback)
One of McCarthy's early works but still one of his best and most affecting. Set in the dark reaches of Appalachia, it follows Culla as he flees his past and his sister who pursues him for reasons all too twisted. An incredibly atmospheric work, full of imagery and fantastic prose this novel is a perfect piece of the Southern Gothic genre. A powerful story of fate and evil
“Bleak”
(Paperback)
STOP WITH THE BABIES, CORMAC!
I read this in preparation for the movie adaptation and I knew it was going to be bleak (classic McCarthy) but I'm confused as to how this will be made palatable for a modern cinema audience
