This is for all you George Romero fans which i must admit i am one , the zombie has suffered soooo much over the years as most horror subjects do in hollywood , the werewolf has been made into a puppy the vampire has been made into an emo who struggles with his grip on life and love everlasting and the zombie has been made a fool of with all the cheap Bgrade movies and soppy " lets appeal to the teenage girl fans " Outside Romero's trillogy of the dead and res evil oh and 28 days later there is nothing in film to appeal , and the same can be said in the written word . Horror suffers because its all tongue in cheak , but now we have patient zero , this is such a great meal to bring to the table , this book is for the pure fans of the zombie , guns and ammo with a little 28 days later . So this is about a new style black ops team set up with the best of the best from sas to the navey seals , all to cope with the new biological threat in the form of the " zombie ".This story involves the threat from the east that will bring the world to its knees and are hero's have got to stop it .When i picked this book up i had to have the day off work to read it , it's the best book iv read in along time , you have very large characters very believable story and fast paced action , guns , blood and lots of zombies .I can only compare this to when i first watched night of the living dead , this is a new era in horror writting and you will want more , your just lucky he's written more books .Horror fans must buy this infact everyone must read this .

I enjoyed this book but it was more action driven than plot or character driven. At times i got a bit bored of reading it, I think I picked this up on a whim and i am not the target audience. If you are looking for a zombie, gadget, fighting, action adventure then you’d probably enjoy reading this one
