Even though I'm a mum, I was really happy this story starred a dad. There are loads of stories about devoted mums. It's nice to have one about a devoted dad. The penguin dad's journey involves lots of helpful animals and fun vehicles - always welcome with the kids! Each new vehicle is revealed on a new page, which makes for lots of eager page-turning and fun reading. This story is great to read aloud, with good rhymes and bouncy rhythm. I've given it as a gift to 1, 2 and 4 year olds, and it's gone down well with all of them.
