Probably the best publication on Peter Howson yet. The author definitely knows Howson on a personal level which gives the essay a more complete view on Howson's work and life. The illustrations are outstanding and give a good spectrum of Howson's practice, from his drawings and pastel to his large scale paintings. The fifteen chapters cover all the aspects of Howson personality and practice. Overall a very good read and a fantastic record of Peter Howson's work.
