This book is a great insight into the careers of the three Pierrepoint executioners. The format is that of a fleshed out list of the executions they did with backstories of some of the most infamous cases. It also notes their beginnings of their careers and their exits, as well as their big life events such as marriages and children. It is not a deep look into their psyches or philosophical reasons behind their careers or the mind of an executioner. But it is still a great insight into their careers and a rather enjoyable look into the crimes and judicial system of the 20th century.
