Reviews: Plot 29 (1)
“A thought-provoking read”
(Hardback)
A wonderful book. I wanted to read it as it ticked many boxes - writing about allotmenting, growing your own, and most important, using gardening and working the soil as a therapy. Allan Jenkins's story is utterly captivating, my heart went to the little boy who was trying to find out who he was - that continued through his life. Gardening was his therapy, he was able to lose himself in the tangle of plants and weeds - I can identify with that. My worries are tiny in comparison with his but all the same, my allotment is a refuge. I think if more people used this approach there wouldn't be such need for pills. A simplistic view perhaps but there is something in it. Thank you Allan Jenkins for bearing your soul to us.
