A great follow on from 'Uglies.' I really enjoyed it and got through it very fast. Tally's adventures and life are fun to read about and there's a great story line to keep everything moving in the background. Tally's now pretty and she has a new life on the other side of the river with all the party towers and lights. She's lost in her new world full of social circles, friends and drinking. But how will she react when meeting someone from her old life in The Smoke?? From when she was ugly? Read this book and find out!

Pretties is a well written, exciting and interesting piece of YA fiction. Because it is YA it deals with a lot of issues that teenagers deal with in a safe and intriguing way, this book deals largely with being superficial. This book is an excellent continuation of Uglies and I highly recommend it if you want to read more adventures from Tally Youngblood. However, I would suggest not trying to read this book without having read Uglies first as it does not stand alone.
