“Another great gangland series from Heather”
(Paperback)
by Kim Mooney
This series has a great story that starts with "FURY." Heather consistently writes captivating books that satisfy her readers. We follow the MacGregor family in this gripping gangland thriller set in Scotland. It's filled with plenty of action, memorable characters, and themes of loyalty. I'm looking forward to reading the third book in the series, "HONOUR."

“Brilliant gangland read”
(Hardback)
by Lovetoread2023
Pride by Heather Atkinson is the second book in the MacGregor Brothers series, and it’s every bit as hard hitting and brutal as the first. Set firmly in a Scottish gangland world, the story is packed with strong, gritty characters, bloody fights, and plenty of skulduggery that keeps the tension high throughout.Familiar faces return with even more power struggles. Ludovica, the boys’ grandmother, remains a standout character for me sharp, formidable, and impossible to ignore. Her rivalry with Betty is especially gripping, and you can sense a major showdown brewing that promises fireworks in future books.Virgil’s storyline adds an emotional edge to all the grit. His involvement with newcomer Megan looks like it could bring him just as much heartache as his ex-wife Ember did and still does. It’s clear he’s still in love with Ember, and she with him, but for her money is everything. Her relationship with Virgil’s nemesis Lucas only rubs salt into the wound, adding another layer of tension and conflict that runs alongside the violence of the gangland world. As in the first book I would have liked to read more about Wyatt, as there’s definitely something simmering beneath the surface there that feels like it could develop into a bigger storyline. From start to finish, it’s a compelling read, and just when you think you can catch your breath, the ending pulls you right back in setting things up perfectly for book three. If you enjoy a tough, no-nonsense gangland series with edge and attitude, this is a must read. A gripping, action packed sequel with unforgettable characters which promises plenty more drama to come—roll on book three.

“Gangland Crime Series”
(Hardback)
by Louise Wilson
The Bloody McGregors Book 2 When yu are born into the McGregor clan, scrapping runs in your blood and the streets will always be your home. Along with his brothers, Virgil McGregor is building a fearsome empire taking on opponents in underground bare-knuckle bouts, but he is nursing a wound that can't be healed. Staring down the barrel of divorce from his tempestuous ex-wife Ember, Virgil is full of regret. So, when their empire is threatened, their beloved mother comes under attack and the brothers loyalty is called into doubt, the McGregors may have only one option.... to come out fighting. And when Virgil is approached by multi-millionaire beauty Megan Hunter with a deal that could solve their problems, he'll have to decide if she's a friend or foe, if he can trust her or if she's been set as a trap. The McGregors enemies are baying for their blood and in this game, you win or you die trying. This is a really good Scottish gangland series that features the McGregors. The characters are strong, gritty, and gripping. This is a fast-paced read. I do love a good gangland crime story, and this one does not disappoint. Published 4th May 2026 I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #HeatherAtkinson for my ARC of #Pride in exchange for an honest review.

“Compelling gangland thriller!”
(Hardback)
by Joan Clapham
Virgil MacGregor and his brothers are building an empire by taking on opponents for their bare-knuckle fights. He finds that meditation helps calm him especially as he’s going through a messy divorce from Ember. When the family is threatened and their mother Maria comes under attack the brothers have no option but to fight. Then beautiful multi-millionaire Megan Hunter comes on the scene and offers them a deal, but can she be trusted? ‘Pride’ is the second instalment of The Bloody MacGregors as they try to free themselves from fighting for arch-enemy John Simpson. This is a compelling no-holds-barred gangland thriller that takes you in from page one and doesn’t let go until the end. It’s a fast-paced thriller with nicely described characters that I’ve enjoyed catching up with and look forward to reading more of in book three.
