BOOK REVIEW: ReCOgnition: Oxygen Debt Part 1 This book review is based upon the book ReCOgnition: Oxygen Debt Part 1, written by Mark Dowson The book ReCOgnition: Oxygen Debt Part 1 was written by Mark Dowson. Mark Dowson’s inspiration to write this book came from working in some of the most prestigious renewable power generation projects in the UK, and his personal research that led to create this masterpiece. As a fan of thrillers and science fiction, this book has both of them, and because it’s Mark Dowson’s debut novel I found it to be very well written. The way that the author speaks of the characters in the book shows that he really took his time to describe each detail. As one may expect from the hard cover, the book tackles the modern technologies and its effects in climate change. I feel the purpose of Mark Dowson writing this book is to try to display the problems that could face the earth, where it’s almost impossible to have a sustainable life. This book takes us to the year 2112 where Dr. Richards is trying to find ways to harnesses wind power in order to have a sustain life featuring UNA and GIATCOM, unfortunately he dies in mysterious ways. The plot of the book marvelously narrated showing a different approach and angle of being grateful for our earth The characters were emerged very progressively especially the character Merisi with whom I built a certain attachment because of his feelings and technical emotions. I have to mention that this book will have you hooked from start to finish. The writing is very readable and understandable, you won’t have to be a scientist to understand. I found this book particularly useful, enjoyable and informative as it was a very good book to read, and it gave me more insight as to what harmful things we’re doing to our planet and how we should make some changes to preserve what we have.
