(Paperback)
Redemption is the fifth book in the Amos Decker series by David Baldacci and is a brilliant addition to the series.
Decker has headed home to Burlington, Ohio as he tends to his daughter’s grave on what would have been her birthday. Decker has been tracked down to the cemetery by a convict who should still be in prison serving his time. He asks Decker to look at the case once again as he continues to plead his innocence and that he had been set up. Decker does not believe him at first until he is found murdered shot in the face and with terminal cancer. Now Decker is interested.
Decker realises he needs to reinvestigate and needs the help of his former partner Mary Lancaster. As he starts to dig Decker begins to question everything, he thought he new about the case, especially what had been considered air tight evidence. Not only is he questioning the evidence he is questioning whether he was manipulated.
Jamison is away with the FBI as she has become a fully fledges special agent but when Decker turns up some interesting evidence the FBI team end up in Burlington. Decker’s investigation soon becomes an FBI priority. Dead bodies keep turning up even with the FBI in town the big question is whether Decker can really crack the case.
A great read such a great thriller.
