“Terrific!”
(Paperback)
by Maggie Macdonald
Zara went missing from a fireworks display when she was nine, two years later she was rescued from a burning building. She has tried to forget these events but when someone recognises her at a dinner party she is overwhelmed. Her loving boyfriend tries to persuade her to come to terms with her abduction by finding out more about it. Emma, having made something of a name for herself investigating lost children becomes involved. I have been a fan of this series since the first book when we first meet Emma, scarred by the abduction of her sister Anna & tin telling the stories of abused children. Along with policeman Jack they have been investigating a paedophile ring involving powerful people in high places. Whereas usually they are searching for someone missing, this time Emma finds herself digging into something that happened long before Anna disappeared. At the same time the people who are close around her are being targeted. The focus of the books are changing as we approach the finale- something I am in two minds about. I really want to know what happened to Anna & there to be a satisfactory conclusion but I will really miss these characters I have grown to care about. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
“Gripping addition to an exceptional series!”
(Paperback)

I’d like to thank HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Repressed’, Book 5 in The Missing Children Case Files and written by M A Hunter, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Investigate journalist Emma Hunter is renowned for identifying those responsible for abducting children in the South of England. Her agent Maddie asks if she’ll meet Zara Edwards known as the Brighton Rock Girl when she was abducted from Brighton Pier thirty-five years aged nine but who managed to escape two years later. Following their meeting, accidents and unexplained events start to occur, too many to be coincidences, and Emma wonders if someone is trying to derail the investigation she’s involved in with her friend DC Jack Serrovitz? Emma doesn’t know who she can trust any more. I thought the previous book ‘Discarded’ was exciting but ‘Repressed’ exceeds all my expectations and I can say in all honesty that never before have I read a book that I’m so desperate for it to keep going, even shouting out ‘you can’t stop now!’ as I reached the final page. The story is exceptionally well-thought-out with a plot that becomes more and more gripping the further I get. There’s an abundance of suspense, shock, horror and disbelief that’s kept me reading late into the night only stopping when I couldn’t get my eyes to stay open any longer. I’m delighted that the author has decided to write one final book in the series and can’t wait for ‘Exposed’ to make an appearance and hopefully tie up all those loose ends.
“A fab read”
(Paperback)
by Anne Mosedale
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC. After the ending of the last book I had high hopes and expectations with this book and I wasn’t disappointed. I thought this was a very well written book that, like the previous books, pulled me in right from the start and held my attention all the way through. It has very likeable characters and an engaging plot line. Here Emma helps Zara who was abducted 35 years earlier and is starting to remember events from that time. The story moved from past to present so effortlessly and I had so much empathy for Zara, and at times her story really tugged at my emotions. The author writes of a difficult subject sensitively and without any graphic detail, allowing my imagination to fill the gaps. I found this to be a fast paced, thrilling read with an ending I did not expect or see coming! I love this series and can’t wait for everything to come to a final conclusion in the last book.

“Full Of Mystery And Suspense”
(Paperback)
by Louise Wilson
The Missing Children Case Files, Book 5 Twenty years ago, a girl was snatched from the Isle Of Portland. Her name was Anna Hunter. Her sisters world ground to a halt. Emma Hunter is now a bestselling investigative journalist known internationally for a vigilante crusade to solve the missing children cases ravaging the South of England. But it has always been about Anna. So when a new case lands on her desk, she doesn't hesitate. Because this one is different. I was pulled into this story from the first few pages. Zara had been abducted thirty five years ago and she's now starting to remember what had happened to her. Zara had been missing for two years. As Emma gets closer to the truth, she's finding herself closer to danger. The plotline is intriguing but it covers some sensitive issues. I'm looking forward to reading the last book but i will also be sorry to see the m end. I would like to thank #NetGalley, #HarperCollinsUk #OneMoreChapter and the author #MAHunter for my ARC of #Repressed in exchange for an honest review.
