“Role Models”
(Hardback)
John Waters is someone I can listen to and read anyway anytime. This collection is his love letters to the people who inspired him, and boy, you'd pay good money not to be stuck in a lift with all of them at the same time. To read about them is fantastic though, Waters has never been given his due as the snappy, intelligent writer he is. From the only creator of rock 'n' roll - Little Richard, an obscure British writer of tortured, precious self-obsession, via Johnny Mathis and Zorro, the greatest lesbian stripper Baltimore produced is a hell of a ride. As fun, suprising and witty as the man himself and suprisingly tender of human failings, give this book to an impressionable adolescent instead of some anemic teen fiction drivel, you'll warp their mind, in the best way.
