Reviews: Run Like Hell (10)
“Worth every penny”
(Paperback)
by cswilson
An intensely personal story that involves much more than running, this book will help people who don't run understand these nutters a bit better and will remind those of us who do run exactly why we do it. Thanks for writing this book Matt. Parts like being Tango'ed may be a bit difficult for the American audience to fully appreciate though.

by Dr Mad Dog Mike Schreiber
Matt Beardshall, a wild-eyed ultra-runner, is also a gifted wordsmith. He has the uncanny ability to coin the exact phrase that will pull you into his exciting adventures... adventures that are as much emotional as they are physical. If you are a runner, a would-be runner, or just like to read about running without breaking a sweat, Run Like Hell is a must read. Dr. Mad Dog Mike Schreiber, Online Running Coach and Fitness Guru
“Well worth reading even for non runners”
(Paperback)
by Twinnies
Another fantastic offering by the very talented Matt Beardshall. I read his first book, Coast to Coast and was transfixed throughout. His second book also takes the reader on an adventure but of a much more personal nature. This book will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. Definitely worth reading for runners and non runners alike.
“Heaven not hell”
(Paperback)

I am new to Matt's books and actually won a copy of Run Like Hell. I have just returned from running the New York marathon, which I loved. This book helped me relive my experiences, which made it a pleasure to read. I am hoping for the other 2 books for Christmas, and many more. Even for a non runner it is a very inspiring read, and would help anyone to understand how our mind set works and why we love to run. Give it a go and you will be waiting for the next one. Thanks for writing about running and please keep on doing it.
“A WINNER IN EVERY SENSE!”
(Paperback)
by Ken Bishton
More than a worthy sequel to COAST TO COAST: LIFE ON THE RUN, this is a tale of two challenges as Matt continues his punishing schedule of endurance training and ultramarathons in preparation for the Big One - in the Big Apple - while beset by a family crisis that comes out of the blue and threatens all that he holds dear. When he finally finds himself pounding the streets of the concrete jungle that is New York, we, the readers, will have travelled a helluva long way to be there with him. More than just a specialist title for hardened (or newbie) runners, the human drama at the heart of this account makes it a sure-fire winner for anyone with a love of adventure and a sense of compassion. An emotional roller-coaster of a book, it is filled with observations and anecdotes that will spark recognition in the most jaded reader
