“Great Key Stage 1 Homework Reference!”
(Hardback)
by Nicole @WstonesHemel
Thank you DK for my copy that was used the very week as my 6 year old had to make a picture labelling the parts of a plant. Later she had questions about bridges and how strong they are which I could answer from pages 62-63 However the favourite so far has to be the microlife page {42} which has a picture of a tardigrade {water bear} she is looking at muddy puddles on the way to school to see if she can see them, we may need to invest in a decent microscope! I'm sure we'll be using it for future projects. This book as an A4 sized hardback with 80 pages it has STEAM subjects in: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths which I would recommend for Children in KS1 or from 4 upwards.
“Great first introduction to STEAM topics”

This book is a perfect all-rounder for every 7+ kid. It shortly explains things like the Earth/Universe, Animals/Plants, Human Body, Technology/Electricity. I like the mix of photographs of the 'real things' and funny drawings to keep the book engaging and entertaining.
“Perfect to answer those 'WHY' questions that you just can't find the words for”

. This book is gorgeously laid out with bright colours and fun characters. Each page has a quick but accurate and descriptive focus on a different subject: Earth, weather, the human body, time, friction. There are 34 different subjects and a glossary as well. I think it's great for kids and adults.
