Reviews: Second Chance Summer (1)
“A good crossover book to teen fiction”
(Paperback)
This is the second book from Matson, and though not quite as brilliant as Amy and Roger's Epic Detour, it is still a lovely book in its own right. I would really recommend this for teens who are looking for a book based on friendships, first love and heartbreak, but who are growing a little too old for Jacqueline Wilson. The book deals with some emotive issues in a sensitive way, and the lead character is very likeable which makes you really feel for her and the situation she is in. A moving, but overall uplifting, story which highlights the benefits of courage, not giving up, and taking second chances.
