Reviews: Second Down Scrooge (1)
“The bad boy finds a family”
(Paperback)
by LizMac05
A festive, second chance novella set in the Nash Brothers world as bad boy Austin Graham, after becoming a father, takes a long, hard look at himself and decides he wants to be a better man for his daughter, so he starts to make amends for all the underhanded stunts he’s pulled in the hope that his baby mama Kelly will give him a second chance. This was a quick and easy read with a hero, if I'm being honest, after reading the earlier books in the series I didn’t think I would like very much. I certainly didn’t expect to feel any sympathy for him after his antics but hearing his backstory and how he'd always felt unwanted, and second best had me cheering him on and the scenes with his baby girl just sealed the deal things for me. He was a natural dad with Mia and the love they shared was sweet and touching. Her mom Kelly was a harder nut to crack, and he had to work hard to prove himself but ultimately, he finds a family that welcomes him with open arms.
