Reviews: Secret Slave (4)
“Beyond comprehension ”
(Paperback)
I read this book whilst on holiday. After the first chapter I thought that I would not be able to continue reading it as I found it to be horrific. I did continue to read it, however, I was very tearful throughout. The pain and torture that young girl went through is beyond comprehension. When I had finished the book it left me feeling very sad, and wondering how many other young girls are going through this kind of ordeal, and the fact that the thirteen years of suffering has not even been reported to the police as yet. I really do hope that the author can find the strength to report this no matter what , as she cannot accept and condon this.
“'Very traumatic real life account of a kidnapping'”
(Paperback)
This book kept me gripped from beginning to end. The book recalls the events leading up to, during, and after, a kidnapping by a taxi driver, of a young 15 year old girl. The story tells of the dramatic and horrific assaults of a young girl Anna, who is called, ' Parveen,' in the book, by the Pakistani family who abduct her. She is kept trapped in a bedroom in their house with a Cobra snake, who scares her. Anna has 4 babies, 2 boys and 2 girls, to Malik, the taxi driver. He is a serious paedophile who is refusing to let her go and wants all of her little children to be sold to other so called 'families.' The abuse described in the book sounds so traumatic and is detailed and documented most of the way through. Anna refers to her 'Nana,' or her Great- Grandmother, who has since passed, as a guide and spirit as to who kept her carrying on during her 13 year ordeal. Will Sally, the Health Visitor save the day? Will Jamie, her Army friend come to rescue her? Will her real-life parents ever know the truth? Will the Pakistani Aziz family, ever see sense, and release the young girl and save her from this terrible ordeal? Lovely ending, definite read, but very blunt and descriptive.
“SUCH AN INCREDIBLE BOOK.”
(Paperback)
I read this book in 2 days. After the first chapter or so.. I debated to stop reading since the detail was so raw, and horrific. But I carried on and im so glad i did. Ive read some books in my time but never one so horrific, sickening, yet wonderful and so optimistic. One page rolls into the other and it makes you feel so greatful. I sobbed like ive never sobbed before at this book because it just makes you think who else is this happening to? I just would love to know more about the real author behind this book. And I pray so much that at now 44. Shes living a happy life.
“Amazing”
(Paperback)
Honeslty enjoyed this book so much. A horrific story with a beautiful ending. Took me two days to read it, I could not put it down.
