Reviews: Self Help (4)
“The best book to learn about mindfulness and buddhism”
(Paperback)
by Teddy Thrasher
This is it. This is the book about Buddhism that I'd been looking for for so long. It is detailed and explains to you everything you need to know about why and how to be mindful in all the stages of enlightenment: Being mindful of the five hindrances, the five aggregates of clinging, the four noble truths, everything until nirvana. It even explains to you how to be mindful of the mind, body, and feelings, which is probably what has been having a bigger impact on me and is the best way to start. No matter if you are a Buddhist or not, mindfulness is for everyone and this book shows that beautifully. Can't wait to read more from this author.
“Good self-help book for the stress-prone”
(Paperback)
by Keenan Freeman
I get lost in sad thoughts and tangled in my own stress, so I picked this book to help me out. I tried to follow their plan and I'm happy to report improvement! The book walks you through some common unhappiness pitfalls, all a result of ignoring the present by being too lost in the past, over-analyzation, etc. It teaches meditations to help you let go and find a peaceful place. I still listen to some of them at night to calm my racing thoughts. It's an eight week plan to de-stress your life and it works if you're committed and follow their instructions. This book opened my eyes and helped me help myself!
“I actually sit and watch my son more closely with observation and allowing the feelings of overwhelming love just flow”
(Paperback)
by Robert Vaughn
Book changed my life. I actually sit and watch my son more closely with observation and allowing the feelings of overwhelming love just flow. Prior to this book, I rushed through my minutes, hours, days, and years. I'm definitely more mindful and in the moment. I've purchased this book for a few friends. Funny how I stumbled across this book.
“Timeless. Excellent.”
(Paperback)
by Keenan Freeman
This book was definitely a lot to digest and should be read and reread over time to reinforce and imprint the message. It's not going to be the book that you read and then go out and become a billionaire overnight its just going to introduce you to a way of thinking that could be different then what you are used to. i would say that you should probably read this book with a pen and pad to take not and understand the finance jargon but besides that it is a timeless read that is most definitely worth picking up.
