“Impossible to put down!”
(Paperback)
For someone who struggles to find a book that will grab my attention for more than a page or two, I found this book hard to put down. It’s not a huge book, but the way it was written painted such a vivid image in my mind of all of the characters and the locations. It did such a good job that on several occasions I had to re-read a page because I was so lost in the images I had created in my mind. I would recommend this to anyone who finds it hard to finish a book and wants something that will blow them away!
“Classic”
(Paperback)
Written in serial form in 1946 this is a true classic western much copied over the intervening 74 years. The story of a mysterious stranger who rides into a developing town and finds a certain peace in helping a local farmsteader before violence rears its ugly head is a classic one. The book is well written, the characters believable and the tension that builds throughout is palpable. It's a short book but a great one. One that deserves it's reputation as a classic western.
