Reviews: Shift (1)
“A guide to changing the thought trains on your mental tracks”
(Paperback)
I first heard Ethan Kross interviewed on "Hidden Brain" podcast, talking about his research to write "Chatter". Dr. Kross is a professor at the U of Michigan researching human emotions. The book outlines the results of his research into a series of chapters about changing emotions. Specific examples show how moving from being stuck on one track into another track can release feelings that seemed resistant to change. His use of real life stories to illustrate activating those alternatives can provide examples of how to switch emotional tracks. Combined with his book "Chatter", these suggestions provide useful real-world applications for putting us in charge of our own emotional landscape. No small feat!
