Reviews: Shrink Solves Murder (31)
“Unputdownable and Engaging”
(Hardback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this murder mystery. The plotline was very good and there were plenty of twists and turns and red herrings to keep you guessing right up until the end.
The characters are all well described and plausible and engaging. You can almost feel as if you are there with them. The main character, Patricia Phillips is quirky and engaging and you find yourself rooting for her.
There are the usual mix of characters you find in any village and the petty things that take on major importance in a village.
The background is well described and you can almost feel as if you are there with the characters.
I liked the interaction between Patricia and Pritchard, and I hope there will be more adventures for Patricia and Pritchard.
“Witty Crime Story”
(Hardback)
A delightful witty crime story full of curious characters that follows Pat a psychotherapist who when one of her clients a man called Henry is found dead at the bottom of Beachy head cliffs the police declare it a suicide as a note was found by his body.
Pat does not believe it is suicide as Henry showed no signs of wanting to end his life and even though the local police are not interested and say it is a case closed, pat starts to investigate further.
Loved the dialogue between her friends and especially Prichard who is a delightful chap who is fond of pat this had many twists and I really enjoyed the story and the ending was good.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC looking forward to the next one.

“Very easy to read!”
(Hardback)
Very easy to read and it’s humorous. To start with I thought it was too silly, but I soon changed my mind.
There’s a serious side to this story which is upsetting, however it’s written in such a way that I didn’t feel distressed.
When the police decide to take no further action and say that Henry died by suicide, his therapist doesn’t agree and takes matters into her own hands.
While I liked Dr Pat, I thought that Prichard was great! Such a lovable person who seems to bumble his way through life. The world needs more Prichards!

“A fun new detective.”
(Hardback)
Pat s a shrink who loses a client and won’t let go of the idea that he didn’t commit suicide. She lives now on the south coast next to the seven sisters which give the opportunity for quite a lot of light hearted ribbing of cold water swimming and reckless tourists.
I enjoyed this book. The characters are cracking the puzzle is solid. I really enjoyed the humour, although some of it was possibly a little cutting. The main character is certainly the type of detective I would enjoy reading more from.
Thank you to the publisher for a review copy of this book.
