I thoroughly enjoyed this murder mystery. The plotline was very good and there were plenty of twists and turns and red herrings to keep you guessing right up until the end. The characters are all well described and plausible and engaging. You can almost feel as if you are there with them. The main character, Patricia Phillips is quirky and engaging and you find yourself rooting for her. There are the usual mix of characters you find in any village and the petty things that take on major importance in a village. The background is well described and you can almost feel as if you are there with the characters. I liked the interaction between Patricia and Pritchard, and I hope there will be more adventures for Patricia and Pritchard.

Pat s a shrink who loses a client and won’t let go of the idea that he didn’t commit suicide. She lives now on the south coast next to the seven sisters which give the opportunity for quite a lot of light hearted ribbing of cold water swimming and reckless tourists. I enjoyed this book. The characters are cracking the puzzle is solid. I really enjoyed the humour, although some of it was possibly a little cutting. The main character is certainly the type of detective I would enjoy reading more from. Thank you to the publisher for a review copy of this book.
