As with all of Bethany Rutter's YA books, this is a story that teenage me needed desperately when growing up. I remember being grabbed by the elbow and told to 'hurry up, lassie' when I was trailing at the back of the cross country. It has taken me a decade to get to a good point with my relationship to exercise and I think that if there was a book around like Slowcoach when I was younget that would have been a much shorted journey. It is a treasure of a book which I found healing. Rush out and buy a copy for yourself and one for every teenager you know! I loved this sweet, uplifting and beautiful summery romance.
