Reviews: Stretching it (2)
“Pacey, funny and well written.”
(Paperback)
A comedy that keeps you turning the pages. Funny throughout, with several wonderful comic set pieces. The plot satisfyingly weaves together three strands of Jennifer Spendlove's life (love, work and home life with her mother). The writing is a delight. Watch out for the bull terrier crossed with a lawnmower. Perfect material for a Yorkshire T.V. adaptation.
“perfect”
(Paperback)
This book is one not to be missed. It is a very perfect read. I was glued from page one. The story is about Jennifer a PA who is 32 years old and a size 24. Jennifer no long wants to care for her mother Alicia. She wants a life. Jennifer embarks on a quest to change her life writing to lonely hearts. We are taken through all the men she meets through lonely hearts. As jennifer searches for her Mr right. We see how Jennifer finds it very difficult to be honest to them to tell that she does not want to see them again. One of the men Jennifer meets is a sex crazed Italian hairdresser. Her new boss was going to make her redundant but he gives her an opportunity that might turn out to be a blessing or a curse.
