Reviews: The Book Share (13)
“A fresh and unpredictable story.”
(Paperback)
What a wonderful, feel good book! I really enjoyed this story with its unusual premise, making it a fresh and unpredictable read. The characters are flawed, likeable and very real. I was totally invested in all of the characters stories - Liv - would she finish Essie’s book? Essie - what is the secret she was hiding, who was the love of her life and who DO those cufflinks belong to? Anthony - who was he to Essie? Jake - what is going on with him, his business, his sister? I devoured this book, wanting to find out what happens next and being surprised by the twists, turns and unexpected revelations. I loved it, and I’m pretty sure you will too……… highly recommended.
“Tender, funny, unusual, surprising”
(Paperback)
I loved this gorgeous book. Liv Green cleans houses and is proud of her work, even if her clients don’t always appreciate her efforts. However bestselling author Essie Starling, while prickly and mysterious, treats Liv with respect. When Essie dies suddenly she leaves Liv an astonishing last wish to complete her final novel. It’s a delight to see Liv flourish as she rises to the task.
“An Intriguing Read”
(Paperback)
Liv Green loves losing herself in a good book. Her everyday reality is less romantic, cleaning houses for people who barely give her the time of day. But when she lands herself a job housekeeping for her personal hero and mega best-selling author Essie Starling, she can't believe her luck. When Essie dies unexpectedly, Liv is left with an astonishing last wish: to complete Essie's last ever novel. To do so, change-averse Liv will have to step away from the fictious worlds in her head, and into Essie's shoes. Essie uncovers a surprising connection between the two women - and a secret that will change Liv's life forever.
With Essie's last wish for Liv to finish her novel, made this an interesting read. Phaedra Patrick has a canny knack for writing real good feel good stories. I have loved everyone of her books. Liv is quite a lonely but likable character. This well written mystery has quite a unique plotline. We watch Liv blossom and her relationship with her husband and sons is not quite the same as they used to be. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #HQDigital and the author #PhaedraPatrick for my ARC of #TheBookShare in exchange for an honest review.
“After ordinary beginnings, an extraordinary life-changing adventure.”
(Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Book Share. As with all the other wonderful books I’ve read by Phaedra Patrick, I quickly grew to like Liv, the central character and to care what happened to her. I really enjoyed how her worlds collided and the roller coaster adventure she went on. After very ordinary beginnings, the extraordinary circumstances she finds herself in are surprising, unique and intriguing in equal measure. This story is more of a mystery than some of Phaedra Patrick's other novels and it kept me guessing until the end. I would definitely recommend this book and have bought several copies to gift to friends and family.

So loved this book, warm, wonderful, charming and thoroughly enjoyable!!
Liv is married with two sons one at University, the other about to start, her husband constantly stressed with running his family business. She adores reading and escapes into books at every opportunity, throughout her busy life cleaning for her clients, and in her very male household. One of her clients, a famous author suddenly dies, and leaves her a bequest that changes her life, no spoilers!
