Fantastic character growth and development in Liv as she works through everything. The other characters are so well defined and interesting, but it is Liv and Essie who really live on. This book was very different to what the title infers - without reading the blurb on the back, you would guess that this is about sharing a physical book. Not so, this book was incredible and loved how Liv's life transformed thanks to Essie's generous gift. She changed as she got to know her favourite author, exploring the publishing landscape, and trying not to fan-girl at the same time. The twist at the end was not what I expected.. and made the book! Learning about all the characters and how they finally linked together, wow! MUST READ!

This is a highly original and unlikely story about 42 year old Liv who works as a cleaner to, amongst others, a best selling author who she is a huge fan of. When the author dies Liv is left in a complex scenario of not only being asked to complete her unfinished 20th novel but also not to tell anyone she has died for six months. The challenges this causes Liv are what makes this novel as you see her character transforming as she not only tackles the unexpected task of completing the book but also uncovering the mystery of the authors past in unlikely ways. Liv was a good person to start with but in the six months she really comes into her own and it’s interesting to see how it impacts on her life and the way she starts viewing herself.

I read this book courtesy of NetGalley. A feelgood read which I enjoyed reading. A book of unexpected friendships, pushing boundaries, family life together with some mystery and secrets. Plenty of twists and turns with interesting characters at different ends of the social spectrum within the world of books. I particularly liked the way that the main character, Liv, was developed from and unassuming woman being given a second chance to develop and become more self assured. Some quite entertaining fun bits too, especially when Liv attends a book event in Croatia. Uplifting and feelgood
