Reviews: The Brain That Changes Itself (3)
“Neuroplasticity made easy.”
(Paperback)
by Rik
Neuroplasticity made simple. I got this when my wife suffered a major stroke recently, on the advice of The Stroke Association. It has given both of us great hope for the future - describing simply, as it does, the process of 'neural re-wiring' that the brain goes through following a major trauma. Highly recommended, the section on 'Constraint Induced Therapy' is of particular interest to those caring for, or involved with, stroke victims or rehabilitation.
“hopeful”
(Paperback)
by Chloe Farrell
I read this book during 12 months of chemotherapy that followed after undergoing surgery for brain cancer. I cannot express the amount of hope that it provided during the most challenging of times. The book provides different insights of how miraculous the brain is through real life stories of living and overcoming brain injury and is one of the best books I have ever read. I would recommend it to anyone (whether you live with a brain injury or not it is a fascinating and easily digestible read!)
