Reviews: The Move (19)
“Full of Intrigue & Possibilities!”
(Paperback)
Oooh, I liked this one! Full of intrigue and possibilities, right to the very end!
Karen is joining her husband at their new home in the country; they are leaving London for good and he has completely renovated the house ready for her arrival. Nick is certain this is going to get their marriage back on track, Karen not quite so much. Things are certainly different - but does different automatically mean better?
Well, here's a story to get lost in! There are a myriad of small happenings to engross and confuse and my sympathies changed often - well, at least to start with. I spent much of this novel in awe of the wonderful characterisation and can only imagine the many hours spent perfecting this novel to make it the stunning read that it is. It has certainly brought the author to my attention and added her name to my 'must not miss' list! A marvellous psychological thriller, with an ending I thoroughly approve of, and one to grip your attention and undoubtedly worth all five sparkling stars.
“Loved this book”
(Paperback)
Loved this book and a very quick read probably because you feel so keenly that you want things to work out for the main character - it's surely just a matter of when. Very believable plot and characters provide a convincing backdrop to the struggles put upon her.
“Intriguing and addictive”
(Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book and totally related to the main character Karen. To the outside world she had a charmed life but really she was just papering over the cracks. She faces many dilemmas in the story and I admired her courage when she chose what was right for her. Her husband is an unlike-able, arrogant charmer who puts her down at every opportunity. She eventually finds the courage to make a stand against him.
“Excellent”
(Paperback)
This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.
I was provided an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my own honest voluntary review.
“Super Storyline and Great depth of characters. 5 stars!”
(Hardback)
The Move by Felicity Everett is a very interesting book based around two main characters - Karen and her very controlling husband Nick. Previously we learn that Karen has been unwell after an event in their marriage. To help start afresh and try and move on together they move from the city to the country for a new life. However moving to a new life in a new area, with a new house, and new neighbours does not change the past and can you move on and create a new future? A very intriguing book, not the read I thought it would be as I thought it would be a thriller. Very interesting characters which were given so much depth and we learn so much about their new area and village life and friends and neighbours. Very cleverly written and an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading Felicity Everett's next book.
