Reviews: The Rain Before it Falls (2)
“so sad”
(Paperback)
I'm working my way through Jonathan Coe's books and this is my third. A certain poignant sadness lingers all the way through, very unlike the other two books of his I have read so far which were often more upbeat and quirky. It portrays the history of a life, well told through an heritance of photos and tape recordings. I really felt for the storyteller who never seemed to achieve true happiness and fulfilment. A moral for everyone to live life to the full, never turn a good opportunity down and always follow your dreams with no regrets.
“A good read.”
(Paperback)
Enjoyed this book but not quite as much as the many others I’ve read by the same author.
