This has started as the story of four women, Jess, Hannah, Kelly and Madison, who have escaped their domestic abusers and come together in a weekly support group to talk about their lives. Then the Caretaker looked after them, killing their partners and releasing videos explaining his motivation. DS Sophie Salam was tasked to find the serial killer but he has so far proven elusive. In this tense and emotional sequel to The Serial Killer Support Group, which really needs to be read first, we are immediately pulled into the world of Jess Pendle and her friends and find out what happened to the Caretaker who, even though always referred to as "he" is now a collective of women, networking across the country to force a change in the law to give women better protection from abusive men. The story is told in the first person POV of Jess and the third person POV of the Caretaker and Sophie. This is as excellent as the first book. In fact, I would say it's a killer read! We have the old gang back, delve deeper into DS Sophie's life and bad men are getting offed violently - as they should. The murders are quite grisly, but hey, they deserve it. But it is also a morally complex story about abused women struggling with notoriety and guilt about what happened to them and what they have in turn done. DS Sophie Salam is such a fascinating character. She has demons from her past turn up and fears for her autistic daughter Lottie's happiness. Even though she suspects the truth about the Caretaker, she bonds with Jess who is a carer for a family with two special needs kids and can therefore relate to Lottie. In fact, might it be more than just friendship? But she is a detective first, and pulled into too many directions at once, there is no telling what she will do to protect her daughter. I love serial killer stories, especially if they are vigilante women out for justice and revenge. The Caretaker is an exquisite twist on that, and I loved the female friendships that formed out of shared experiences. These women have created a safe space and would do anything for each other. If you are wondering about the open ending, please be advised that a third book is in the works for release early next year. I'm not sure I can wait that long to read more about the interesting change of dynamic in this gripping tale! There is definitely more to come!

Netgalley Review The writing was engaging and the further through I got, the more I was sucked in. I wasn't quite sure how the story was going to proceed as we were told some key bits of information right from the beginning so the suspense and tension had to come from elsewhere. In the end it was very cleverly built up with little bits of suspense and tension being added in here and there. By the end I was racing through, eager to see how it would all turn out. The chapters were generally short and each titled with the character whose viewpoint we were about to read from. I enjoyed getting a wide range of views, especially from The Caretaker. It gave the story a more rounded feel. There was a good pace and flow to the book, despite the fact that we were hearing from different characters. It all seemed to fit seamlessly together and this technique added the suspense and tension to the story. The shorter chapters meant that we got through quite a lot in a short period of time. The characters were excellent. The whole story was dark and morally grey. I really felt for the characters and all that they had been through. What they were prepared to do to help others was amazing. Their strength and courage shone throughout the book. Was it the correct way to go about things? That is the big question! We did see some consequences of such huge decisions and that left you with something to think about. Lastly the settings. Whilst it was mainly a character focused book, there were some excellent descriptions of the characters surroundings. They really added to the mood of the book and helped to fully immerse you into the story. Overall a dark and morally grey book. I am certainly going to have to look out for the first and next book in this series!

was so excited to read The Serial Killers Support Network by D. B. Stephens after having read The Serial Killer Support Group as an ARC and absolutely loving it. and this sequel did not disappoint. As soon as this book hit my kindle I was straight onto reading. It was just as dark, gripping, and addictive, with even higher stakes and plenty of twists.I loved how the story builds on the original with vigilante justice, revenge, found family, moral grey choices, secret identities, and shocking twists, while still keeping the strong friendships and dark humour that made the first book so good. The Caretaker storyline added a whole new level of tension, and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.This will appeal to fans of twisty thrillers with attitude, similar in feel to books by Karin Slaughter and C. J. Tudor, with its mix of dark themes, suspense, and characters you can’t help rooting for

This book is the second in the series and it doesn’t disappoint, Jess , Kelly , Madison and Hannah are back , and what they created in the first book has got so much bigger ! The Caretaker a vigilante who takes revenge on abusive men is back. He is dealing out his own type of retribution and men are being murdered. DS Sophie Salam is hot on the caretaker’s tail and believes she knows who he is . Sophie has issues of her own , she’s crossed a line before and it looks like she may have to cross it again . The Caretaker is still out there, targeting abusers and pushing for change, while staying completely out of reach of the police. Sophie is under pressure from all sides, including a dangerous secret from her past that could destroy her if it comes out. Meanwhile, her growing connection with Jess puts them both at risk, especially when neither can be honest about who they really are. Fast-paced, tense, and full of secrets. This sequel picks up smoothly from book one and keeps you hooked right to the end. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment!
