“The Subtle Knife”

I think it was a brilliant sequel to the northern lights book (the first book in his dark materials trilogy) very deep Characters, the Mysterious plot is extending bring with it the desire to want more. Excellent book defiantly worth reading along with the rest of the series.*****

“Incredible”
(Paperback)
by Zoe Richardson
I absolutely loved this book, it was incredible. Some books I find they don’t have the magic throughout the series but this wasn’t the case. If you love Enid Blyton or Emma Carroll you might like these!!
“An absolutely worthwhile read for young and old”
(Hardback)
by Teri Baker
This second book in the His Dark Materials trilogy gets darker, more violent and takes us into new worlds. We meet the second main character, Will Parry in this book as the story evolves further and more comes to light what the various adult factions are all on about. In the meantime Lyra and Will meet and are on an adventure of their own, learning about each other and through this learning about themselves. The story is wonderfully woven and raises many questions about what it means to be human, about how it all fits together and to find your way through what life throws at you.
“Continues where Northern Lights left off...”
(Paperback)
by Anna
The follow up to Northern Lights, and the second in the His Dark Materials trilogy, The Subtle Knife is as good as its predecessor. We continue to follow Lyra on her adventures, along with a whole host of other characters, some familiar, others not. The story is intricately plotted, following multiple characters on their journeys, all tied to one another. It does a good job of nicely linking up the first and third books in the series, but it isn't just a linker - everything about this book is good. Make sure to have read Northern Lights before starting The Subtle Knife - it will be confusing without it!
