“Jaw-dropping”
(Paperback)
by Nicholas Jensen
This is an outstanding book that I would recommend to everybody. There are many twists and turns: sad parts, happy parts, and plenty of funny parts. Morris Gleitzman isn't afraid to tell the truth about what really happened during the Second World War. The characters always make you feel like you are in the book with them. It's good that Morris Gleitzman explains about the Holocaust to children, but is able to do it in a way that captures the reader's empathetic side. It's good for children over the age of nine. Any younger and it might be a little too emotional. It's good - don't you know anything? - Reviewed by Year 6 at The Old School Henstead.

“Then”
(Paperback)
by Sarah Clarke
The follow up to Once is a very emotional and gripping read. I started it whilst waiting for a bus, missed it and then decided to go home instead. Then is a not just a book for children: its beautifully written, poetic, deeply disturbing and a very important book. Make sure you read it

I never read 'once' but borrowed 'then' from my local libarary, I simply just couldn't put it it down. I cryed my heart out when I had finished it, and in my own words i have never read a book so sad ,but still carries hope, ever. I would definitely recommend it to anyone of any age!
“Learn a little bit more about the Holocaust”
(Paperback)
by Ayr Junior Proof Readers
This book is about two children who have jumped off a train that was going to the death camp. They have to find someone to look after them who is not going to kill them. The two children are Felix (10) and Zelda (6) and the story is set in Nazi Germany. The story is quite simple but effective and it is a great quick read. The ending is quite sad and leaves you feeling sad as you know that it is based on true facts. The story shows an important message. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested to learn a little bit more about the Holocaust age 11+ reviewed by Nuala Abramson
