“Wonderfully funny!”

I didn’t read Jacqueline Wilson as a child, but my daughter did, and loved her books. I was surprised to see she’d written an adult book, but was very pleased to receive an early copy. I couldn’t put it down!! What an excellent book! Covers so many situations with such ease and normality. I loved Ellie and didn’t like Gary so was praying she’d see sense! Thoroughly recommend this return to a group of school friends. Yvonne Retired bookseller
“Absolutely delightful!!!”

I was very much raised on Jacqueline Wilson. I distinctly remember having a few books in very well read paperbacks, and spending a few years racing to the shops to get the new books in hardback. I never read the original Girls series at the time, but was excited to see the announcement of Think Again - a really cool concept to have characters revisited with time having passed... and Jacqueline's first adult novel as a result. I spent some time reading the original four Girls books in anticipation of this release - fully entrenching myself in Ellie, Magda and Nadine's world. I received an advanced copy of Think Again and devoured most of it on a recent train journey. The book is a wonderful follow up to those much loved books, featuring nods to the original stories, and easter eggs to other things within the JW world. It helps to have read the originals, but this would work as a stand alone book too - and will sit happily alongside romance similar novels by contemporary novelists like Dolly Alderton and David Nicholls. What a treat to have Jacqueline Wilson, an author who so many of us booksellers and readers were raised on, still writing and releasing so many books. I can't wait to share her first book for adults with readers on release!
“Pure Nostalgia”

Think Again is the novel that all Jacqueline Wilson fans have been waiting for and answers many questions readers have had. It is another uplifting, relatable, nostalgic and heartfelt story about families and friendships. Readers who read Jacqueline Wilson’s ‘Girls’ series at a younger age will love this as the the characters have now grown up and the story is so honest I found myself laughing, smiling and feel seen (in some ways) and I am sure many others will too. This book is going to be so popular and adult readers are going to just love it! Pure nostalgia for everyone! I want to say a HUGE thank you to the publishers for sending me a proof copy.

There’s no avoiding the fact most readers will come to Think Again with a hefty dollop of nostalgia. That will be the magic in this book for so many people – but I hope they, like me, will also be impressed by the care Wilson takes to give us characters that still feel so relevant and relatable to modern life. Think Again opens on Ellie’s 40th birthday and we soon fill in the decades since the Girls series. She’s a single mother to 20-year-old Lottie and my favourite part of the novel was seeing the new complexities in their relationship her daughter becomes an adult. Ellie’s relationship with her dad is also explored in a way that made my heart ache a little – Wilson captures beautifully the push and pull of coming to terms with the flaws of our parents we age. Reading Think Again felt like snuggling up with a brew to re-watch a favourite film. It was gentle in style, yet I found it so compelling and didn’t want to put it down. There was frustration, angst, humour and delight. I was slightly apprehensive at where Wilson was going to take a few plot lines, but was impressed by how they were resolved. Like so many of Wilson’s novels, Think Again is something I can’t wait to read again when I’m searching for a literary comfort blanket. This book is undoubtedly written for the women who grew up reading Wilson’s novels (with some lovely little easter eggs scattered throughout). It made me want to re-visit those old favourites and left me yearning to spend more time with Ellie. Yes, Think Again is highly nostalgic. But it’s a wonderful contemporary novel in its own right – with themes around parenting adult children and being an adult child, new love and potentially toxic relationships, self-belief, and the way our friendships change over the years. Read this and bask in the pure emotional comfort Jacqueline Wilson has gifted us. *Thank you to the publisher for sending me a review copy.
“I loved this!”

I requested an ARC of Jaqueline Wilson’s first adult novel because I loved her Girls in Love quartet when I was younger. I read lots of Jacqueline Wilson when i started as a children’s bookseller, as she was by far the most popular children’s author at that time and quite honestly I really enjoyed reading her books. I was so pleased to be sent this ARC and I am so glad I have been given the chance to read this early as I truly loved it so much. Things have changed a lot in the 25 years or so since I initially read this series and Jaqueline manages to move with the times by telling the story of a very modern romance. I loved reading about Nadine, Magda and Ellie again, although if truth be told I couldn’t entirely remember the previous novels but that didn’t really matter as I was soon swept up in the story and willing Ellie to make the right choices. I really don’t want to give too much away I just want to say if you are a Jacqueline Wilson fan this will not disappoint and if you haven’t read any of hers before give it a go, you will most likely love it too! After reading and returning to the world of Ellie, Magda and Nadine I really feel the need for more and would love to hear Magda’s story and Nadine’s as I feel there would be a lot to explore here as their stories were only told through Ellie’s perspective. It would also be great to get snippets of how Ellie is doing as I need to know!! Highly recommend.
