Perfect! A heartwarming funny book covering topics you can relate to regardless of your age. I adored this book and would absolutely recommend.

Getting to hear about Ellie, Nadine, and Magda again after so many years was so special! It felt just like catching up with old friends. What a treat!

I was lucky enough to be given a proof of this book to review and all I can say is, if Jacqueline Wilson was an author whose books you devoured as a child/teen then you should definitely read this book. It only took a chapter or two for me to get used to the characters I loved being grown women, but after that it was easy to get back into the world of Ellie, Nadine and Magda. Now the book isn’t perfect, I still think Ellie has terrible taste in men, and I really think Nadine and Magda need their own book (Hint hint) but overall it was a fun and nostalgic read, and as someone who devoured Jacqueline Wilson books in their youth I really enjoyed it and hope she does more.

Jaqueline Wilson is back with The Girls that we all grew up with. There is nostalgia dipped into every page with small Easter eggs and throwbacks making me grin, reminding me of being a young teen again. I absolutely loved seeing Ellie, Magda and Nadine again and seeing what they have been up to in the last 20 years. Ellie turning 40 and not having her life together was a whirlwind to read. It feels like we have seen a snapshot of the girls back together again, and I truly want more. It’s almost like we never left them! Pure nostalgia!

I'm in two minds about this book. I really, really wanted to love it and Wilson is undoubtedly one of my favourite children's authors! But I do have to admit that if nostalgia wasn't in play, I would probably rate this lower. (Maybe a 3/3.5) The characters are as great as I remember them to be, I do wish we'd seen more of Ellie, Magda and Nadine together! I think Ellie's tone did still sound quite teen-like but it made sense for the plot Wilson was creating. However, sections of the book and character development were very rushed, completely lacking nuance. Overall, this might not be the best book I've ever read but I still had a fab time reading it and feel like all Wilson fans will enjoy returning to these girls!
