I loved Sophia Bennett's first book, Threads which completely surprised me as I'd never descibe myself as especially girly. Her stories about Nonie, Edie, Jenny and Crow are so engaging and so witty that you can't help but be drawn in whether you've got a cavernous wardrobe filled with the latest from all the top designers, or just a pile of t-shirts and jeans. There's a wonderful shiny heap of glamour and fashion to these books, but also a feet-on-the-floor chunk of reality as well. Where Threads investigated the threatening world child soldiers, Beads, Boys and Bangles delves into the lives of child workers in India. You can tell that the author has as much of a passion for uncovering these wrongs as she does for the glitz fashion and she writes in a such a way that the issues and the characters absolutely come to life. I finished the book grinning - it reminded me how great friends are, particularly when you're all bonded together behind a cause. I can't wait for the third in the series!

Really Good, Crow was my fav girl out of all of them she was really funny and wackey and i grow a really soft spot for her. I also loved how the book also captured about crows brother and how they were in Africa. This book is on fashion and I know its random but i love the dress on the front cover. I wish this girls were really so they could desgin some awesome dresses and stuff!!

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this book. I rambled on and on and it didn't really have a plot or a story line, I got extremely bored and quickly. Half the time I had no idea who was talking or where they were or why there were there. Rachel, age 11
