Clever, Clever, Clever. Just when you think you've got things straight Steve Cavanagh goes and pulls the rug out from beneath you, time and time again. Twisted is a brilliant standalone novel from this author, fast paced, ingenious plot and so many surprises. I won't bother to regurgitate the plot, just believe me when I say its a real joy to read and you need to read it for yourself.. The book opens with the author's note of a novel and we are told 'From here on in, don't believe a single word you read'' and never a truer word could be spoken, even with this in mind you are pulled in various directions as each reveal shatters what you thought you knew. The arc of the story takes you from domesticity through lies and deceit to chasing suspects through the country. The denouement is well worked and honestly - I never expected that. Can't wait to see what Steve Cavanagh comes up with next, I loved Thirteen and will seek out his next book eagerly. #Twisted #NetGalley
“Twisted!”

Who is best selling author JT LeBeau and what do they have to hide? There’s not really much I can say about Twisted without giving anything away! The book is extremely fast paced and manages to keep the twists coming over and over again but not in a way that makes them feel out of keeping with the characters or their motivations. I loved the way that it makes you question what is real and what isn’t. The ending for me initially I had thought was a little lacklustre, which may be the problem with having so many twists so early on in the narrative, but then I went back and read it again before realising it was really quite clever. I enjoyed how each of the characters felt well-rounded – even smaller ones such as the mailman. I liked that some of it felt like a police procedural with the characters of Sheriff Dole and Deputy Bloch being interesting in their own right. It was very hard to know who to root for at times! I did feel however that some of the descriptions felt unnecessarily repetitive – a non-spoiler example being how many times Maria refers to Daryl as unintelligent in the first few chapters. Twisted is a twisty read that sinks its teeth in you and doesn’t let go until you finish it (which was in two sittings for me!) Thank you to NetGalley & Orion Publishing group for a chance to read the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
“t: An entertaining, thrilling ride that twists it’s way through to an explosive finale”
(Paperback)
by Mary Picken
I’m not a huge fan of book promotions that tell you you’ll never believe the twist that’s coming. No danger with this book, which genuinely is so twisted that, although it is very easy to follow the narrative arc, nevertheless manages to delight and surprise all the way through this psychological thriller. The premise centres on JT LeBeau; the most successful thriller writer of our time who has written a number of books all to huge acclaim, yet no-one knows who s/he is. His /her success comes from the ability to write thrillers with killer twists that none of his readers can anticipate. Yet J.T. LeBeau remains an elusive figure. Despite being incredibly rich, or perhaps because of it, his/her identity has never been uncovered. With an affectionate nod to the seemingly endless appetites of readers for psychological thrillers with just such a twist, Cavanagh manages to produce one that delights and confounds with a series of tense, unpredictable chapters that left me in awe of his plotting prowess. Suspenseful, addictive, immersive, this is storytelling that packs a punch. Cavanagh has said that this is a book about unreliable narrators, written by an unreliable narrator. Who can you believe? There is no-one you can trust as you follow the twisted path which builds to a crescendo as the body count rises yet again and all is revealed. Do I now know who J.T. LeBeau is? Let’s just say this; if I told you, I’d have to kill you. Verdict: An entertaining, thrilling ride that twists it’s way through to an explosive finale

This ought to be one of the biggest hits of the summer and should be seen on planes , beaches, park benches , boats , trains and bedsides all across our world and those of any other worlds that may possibly exist Twisted is a thriller that is more gripping than dried weetabix in unwashed bowl and will knock your metaphorical socks off many, many times as the plot races towards its denouement , twisting and turning like a politician who 'forgot' to declare luxury foreign holidays ...... My advice would be to read the book ,,then pop on here to tell the world how much you've enjoyed it (!unless you're JT LeBeau and are publicity shy) .
“Twisted indeed!”

4.5 - 5 A very aptly titled stand alone read that you won't want to put down - yep all the cliches apply and this is a book that lives up to every word of the hype about it. Written in short chapters which keep you turning those pages, great plot and characters. It would extremely difficult to review fully without spoilers so I'm wary of saying more but if you like a tense book that is so twisty you wonder which way is up then buy this one! Many thanks to Orion and NetGalley for the ARC of this book - this review is my honest opinion of the book.
