Kept me guessing, and on the edge of my seat, throughout the book...and right to the end...twisted?? I'd say so!! Great read again by Mr Cavanagh!

After reading author Steve Cavanagh's smash hit of 2018, Thirteen, I was looking forward to his new novel Twisted with high hopes. As the title suggests, it really is a twisted rollercoaster of a ride and one I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending. A departure from Cavanagh's successful Eddie Flynn series, this new book is a standalone read. J.T. LeBeau is one of the world's most loved thriller writers. Sales of his books are through the roof. But here's the strange thing - no one knows who he is. He writes under a pseudonym and with great skill; always managing to throw in a killer twist. So why does he shun the limelight and adoration? The answer is. . . well . . . twisted! Phew, what a great tension-filled read! Right from the outset the pacing is frantic and doesn't let up until the very end. J.T. LeBeau is a fantastic creation and I so enjoyed the direction the author took him - a brilliant but warped mind indeed! The plot is akin to a game of cat-and-mouse with protagonist, and less successful author, Paul Cooper frantically trying to outmanoeuvre the cunning and devilish LeBeau. An entertaining and suspenseful read. Go buy it right now!

What a cleverly written book this was. This is definitely written for readers. And most definitely for those that love deeper twists in books that they think they’ve worked out.......but I beg to differ. This was a puzzled within a puzzle. Just who is this writer, no face, no identity? Really made me sit up and take notice! I do own one of his other books. Not read.....yet. But this sure is an eye opener to talent.

Steve Cavanagh does it again! Twisted - as the name suggests - is a jam-packed fast-paced exciting thriller with dramatic plot twists on every page. A brilliant page turner of a novel that does not disappoint. Great for Harlan Coben fans. Deb - Bookseller

4.5 stars Well... where do I start with reviewing this book... Definitely not saying anything about the actual storyline cos I think to even touch on anything that happens herein there's a chance of spoilers... This is a book to go in cold, to discover all the many delightful twists and turns exactly when the author intends. I say many twists and that's no exaggeration. It's actually a bit of an understatement. This book really does live up to its name. In two ways. Obviously it's a bit twisted; goes with the genre! But what happens within the book is all a bit twisted in its other sense too. We have three main characters and a couple of cops. Speaking honestly here (cos I have to), I think that there is so much emphasis on the twists and turns that happen frequently throughout the book that characterisation was, for me anyway, left a little behind in the quality stakes. I didn't really warm to any of them, which doesn't always matter to me but I also failed to connect to any of them strongly enough to really care what happened. Which was a bit of a shame really as I think this contributed to the fact that the ultimate ending didn't really do it for me. I actually think I was all twisted out! But, those things are personal to me and you may find it blows your socks off! The story was good and well executed. Convoluted and interconnected all the way with secrets and lies and things happening that make you go "Huh!" until the explanation is delivered later and you kick yourself for not seeing it at the time. Hats off to the author for that! I think this will be one of the few books that I re-read. Not cos it was that good, more for the fact that I'd love to read it with hindsight.
