Reviews: Wolf Cry (7)
“A book in which you can become totally involved”
(Paperback)
This is a book for those who love intriguing adventures. Set in Viking times, this heart-felt pageturner is both exciting and at times sad. I recommend this as a book in which you can become totally involved.

“An absolute must-read”
(Paperback)
This book tells the story of Aubrey, an 11 year old girl who was left to live on her own when her mother mysteriously vanished after the tragic death of her father and sister. Then Gram takes Aubrey to live with her in Vermont. Throughout the story Aubrey writes a number of letters, recording her thoughts and feelings whilst waiting for her mum to come home.
This is a wonderful story, outlining the importance of families and stays with you even after the last page. i would recommend it to all girls over 11. This is an absolute must-read!

“I hope there are more novels by ths author.”
(Paperback)
Wolf Cry is the adventure of Freydis, the daughter of a powerful Jarl, and her slave Enno. Enno is from Africa and fascinates the Northerners with his strange skin and tribal markings. Enno promises himself not to care for them, but finds himself more and more drawn to the kind and delicate Freydis who is nothing like her firm and arrogant father.
When the Jarl's stronghold is attacked, Freydis is forced to be strong and fend for herself to stay alive. I loved this book and hope that there are more novels by this author to be written because I really enjoy them.

“A captivating adventure story”
(Paperback)
Wolf Cry is an enthralling, captivating adventure story. It is about two young adults on an adventure to unite them back together again. One of them gets stuck with pirates, the other stranded on their own. All the way through the book you are kept on your toes wondering if they'll ever make it. Read it to find out!

“Adventure”
(Paperback)
This story is set in Norway during Viking times. it is the first Viking book I have ever read and I've enjoyed it very much. The main characters are Freydis, a young girl and an African slave called Enno.
When the evil pirate Sulke captures Freydis' brother Toki, their father, Ohthere, tries to save him. My favourite part in the book is when Toki meets Aino, his future wife, for the first time.
We also hear about the Spirit World from Tapiola, the headman of the Sami tribe. For example, there is black wolf (Enno) and white wolf (Freydis).
I learnt that boys were more important than girls in those days. The most exciting part in the book is when the Beormas tribe chase Sulka and his men away pretending to be bears.
I recommend this book for ten to twelve year old boys and girls, because it has both a boy and a girl in it. It is an adventure book.
