Reviews: Work Trip (23)
“This Debut Takes Enemies-to-Lovers to the Next Level”
(Paperback)
by hungrybookworm.reads
Work Trip by Chloe Ford just snuck its way onto my list of all-time favorite enemies-to-lovers romances. I wasn’t ready for how much this book would get me. The banter, the tension, it just builds in all the right ways, and the emotional moments? Unexpectedly deep. You know that delicious slow burn where you can feel the shift between two characters who drive each other crazy, and not always in a good way until suddenly, it’s all heat and vulnerability and realization? Yeah. This book nails that. It’s the kind of romance that makes you laugh out loud one minute, and the next, you're clutching your chest at a line that hits way too hard. Plys, the chemistry is magnetic, but it’s the emotional growth that really seals the deal. Watching two people unravel each other while slowly realizing they might have finally found someone who sees them? Ughhh Perfection! If you live for that chaotic, enemies-to-lovers energy with a soft undercurrent of longing, Work Trip delivers it in spades.

“Must-read rom-com!”
(Paperback)
by Lauren Ford
I adored this debut from Chloe and fell in love with Fliss and James. I didn’t know the One Tent trope was something I was missing in my life until I read Chloe’s book! From the gorgeous Scottish Highlands setting to witty banter and crackling chemistry, I devoured this book. It’s a perfect enemies-to-lovers rom-com that includes real issues, and Fliss’ work situation will feel relatable to many women. If you’re in the mood for enemies to lovers, forced proximity, a sweet MMC hiding under a suit, a loveable and relatable FMC, and cuddling in a sleeping bag, this rom-com is a must-read!

You know it's a good book when you stay up into the unsociable hours to read it. I devoured this and didn't want to put it down once I picked it up. I love a good enemies-to-lovers, and this was a sizzling, witty, and fun example! I could feel the tension between the characters, and loved them both for very different reasons. The setting was great, even if they really weren't equipped for it haha who knew one tent romances was what I needed in my life. I sadly could relate to some of the workplace toxicity, it all helped to make it feel more real. A great book, though I wanted another like 200 pages! Why did it have to end? Ah well, will just have to preorder the next one
