This is a really fun, well-paced debut novel. Work colleagues Fliss and James genuinely do not get on, so when they’re stuck in each other’s company in the Scottish Highlands, just one tent and all, sparks are bound to fly. Only… what kind of sparks? The snippy banter feels very realistic as they gradually move beyond the confines of their office relationship and start to discover more about each other’s backgrounds and motivations. The scenic Scottish backdrop is also really well depicted, with plenty of both dramatic and humorous moments (I particularly enjoyed the bemusement at some of the rucksack contents). The whole plot completely drew me in, and without giving away any spoilers it would have been nice to have an epilogue, because while the ending worked and I get why it finished where it did, some indication of how everything panned out would have been satisfying. Still, that’s a really minor quibble (and maybe just me?), and I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for more from this author.

This was an absolute delight! I read and loved this delightful romance novel! I found Felicity and James to be both interesting and deeply endearing characters, their dynamic at and outside of work kept me laughing and engaged. We follow Felicity and James as they are dumped in Scotland and are forced to hike their way to civilization. This felt like a real enemies to lovers for me, I think Chloe Ford did a fantastic job writing banter between the two characters, and it really had me rooting for the two of them! Both Felicity and James are quite flawed, I found it refreshing watching the two characters deal with real struggles in quite an extraordinary circumstance. The descriptions of rural Scotland felt vivid and I could really picture the surroundings. While the idea of your boss dropping you off with your mortal work enemy in rural Scotland and then leaving you is a bit far fetched, the contrast between the camp and real world insecurities and family dynamics Felicity dealt with worked so well for me! I was shocked to find out that this was a debut! Fans of Tessa Bailey and Hannah Bonam - Young will adore this. My only complaint was that this wasn't longer, I wish we had a bit more time hiking, I love the filler and small moments in romance novels just as much as I love the big gestures! Overall this was a real joy to read (I read it in one sitting) and would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking for a great romance read! Fliss and James are work enemies but their boss makes them work together on a work trip. Can they resolve their differences ;) I flew through this book! I really enjoyed the banter between Fliss and James, with good British humour and lots of adventure along the way. If you like a romance with a bit of spice, enemies to lovers and lots of humour, I'd highly recommend this book.

A great, fun read which I thoroughly enjoyed reading on a long journey. Loved that it was based in remote areas of Scotland. Both characters and their chemistry worked well
