Reviews: Zero K (1)
“Not my cup of tea, sorry”
(Hardback)
Please let me preface my review by saying that Zero K didn't strike accord with me as it has with most reviewers. I've not read Mr. DeLillo before and wouldn't be surprised if I don't again. This just didn't tick the boxes for me, I'm afraid.
Jeffrey Lockhart joins his father and stepmother on a trip to a facility where stepmom, Artis, will die and be preserved for future reanimation. There's a whole lot of reflection, remembrance and generally tedious time spent while Jeffrey waits for this event to occur. I found it odd and kept waiting for more to happen.
Yes, there is lovely writing to be had here but the story just didn't grab me. My tiny mind needs more action, it seems.
